Laurie Baird has been instructing first aid courses since 1982, she has taught hundreds of courses and is actively involved in developing new methods of instruction to ensure our students have the best instruction possible.

Laurie is an Occupational First Aid Level 3 instructor and examiner, A red cross certified Instructor/Trainer for Advance Marine First Aid, First Responder and Emergency Medical Responder courses.

Laurie also teaches Advanced First Aid and Emergency medical responder for EMP Canada, as well as many first responder courses for the Justice Institute.

When teaching she calls upon a lifetime of knowledge having worked for BC Ambulance services since 1983, where she is currently a Paramedic Chief.

Jessica Powell

Jessica Powell

Jessica has been teaching first aid since 2003 and has experience teaching many different age groups and in many different environments. In 2012 she completed the Provincial Instructor Diploma Program through Vancouver Community College and she works hard to ensure a comfortable learning environment for everyone in the classroom.

Aside from teaching Jessica has been working as a Paramedic with the BC Ambulance Service since 2004 and tries to incorporate real-life experiences into the classroom to enhance student learning!

Paul Gurr

Paul Gurr has been an instructor trainer with Red Cross for over 25 years, instructed WSBC OFA or equivalent course for over 30 years. Paul has worked part time with BCAS for 30 yrs and is presently quality control for EMP Canada, that offers a first aid (from CPR though to EMR) and safety training program that offers program across Canada.

‘Carlie Carseat’ Is a registered car seat technician with CPSAC. Carlie can help with an install of your carseat or can provide information for group talks/ info booths.

Phill Fuller is a new Instructor with Bairds first aid services! He has recently completed his Canadian CPR First Aid Instructor course. He currently works in the Health care field, specifically as a Phlebotomist at St. Joseph’s General Hospital.
